FREERIDE

The Blaze

The emerging category of lighter weight Playful Freeride skis ushers in a new era for skiers seeking lively, lightweight products with easy all-day handling in a wide variety of snow conditions. These are riders who constantly look for alternative terrain, either adjacent to the groomers or adjacent to the resort. Trees (woods in the East!), bumps, powder stashes – wherever there is more fun to be had, Völkl’s new Blaze series goes beyond the state of the art.

The flagship Blaze 106 is designed from the ground up, with a new shape that combines a wide, 106mm waist with Völkl’s 3D Radius sidecut technology – a unique setup with longer radii at the tip and tail and a tighter shape in the mid-body, allowing the skier to switch from long arcs to short turns at will. A new hybrid wood core has been engineered for lighter weight, giving the ski great maneuverability and quickness while maintaining Völkl’s signature edge grip. In the new Suspension Tip design, the wood core follows the shape of the tip allowing a smooth, catch free ride quality despite the Blaze’s light weight. Under the binding, a titanal center sheet provides some extra grip and solid binding screw retention. Whether dropping in from the first chair or after a quick skin, skiers who don’t like to follow the tracks will have a new best friend with the Blaze. #BUILTTOGETHER Freestyle Series

Revolt 104

The new Revolt 104 continues Völkl’s rider-driven 'Built Together' program with a brand-new twin tip shape built to give skiers the best tool for all-around riding in softer snow. The nose and tail shape, flex, rocker profile and the graphic were all sorted out over a long series of on-snow tests by Völkl’s #builttogether riders. Its 132-104-122 shape uses the unique 3D Radius Sidecut design to enhance stability while adding maneuverability and playfulness. From the park to the back bowls, the new Revolt 104 is made to handle it all. MSRP $700

Yumi 84

One of Völkl’s most popular women’s models gets a complete re-design for next season with a new Glass Frame construction and 3D Radius Sidecut design. Always known for allowing a huge range of skier abilities to reach full potential, the new Yumi 84 takes that capability even further. The Glass Frame construction mimics the Titanal Frame in Völkl’s higher end freeride skis with in a lighter, easier-handling setup that concentrates glass layers around the ski’s perimeter. Combined with 3D Radius Sidecut design, these elements deliver an amazing blend of easy handling and versatility that will keep the Yumi’s best-seller status alive and well. MSRP $700
